Spread the News - enlist others, let people know what's going on. Start an email network, talk to people, hand out a flyer - do whatever you can to let them know. Most pet owners are not aware that this is happening. Some don't believe it when they hear it! GET the WORD OUT!
What you can do: learn as much as you can, write to your commissioner, join together with friends, march against the ordinance, join the Coalition.

Synopsis: Animals are abandoned because of a Pet Retention problem. The top 5 reasons for abandonment will not be solved by Mandatory Spaying and Neutering. Pet retention is a people problem, not a breeding problems. Historical levels of pets are spayed and neutered and the killing continues. It will continue even after they implement their unenforceable mandatory program. Only the innocent pet owner will be hurt by this vile law. Educate people and train the pet and retention rates go up! Add a NO KILL solution and the problem is solved! No more Killing!

The Baseline Floor Calculation - Normal Death Rates are included in Animal Care and Control statistics. Animal Care and Control spends too much time killing and not enough saving pets. Government needs to cooperate. We need to keep watch over public servants.

Animal Care and Control Statistics - Animals get sick, disease, old, and die. They are a part of the statistics. Most would die naturally. But Animal Care and Control puts another notch in their belt every time they kill. They also include Cats - stray, wild, and feral. Animal Care and Control needs a new and better system of acquiring and compiling data. I believe they need new management and policies that work with the private sector as we employ a NO KILL Shelter System (trademarked proprietary system). Demand that the county STOPS KILLING.
