About the Coalition to STOP
Mandatory Spaying and Neutering
Paul Barrett, founder of
The Coalition to STOP Mandatory Spaying and Neutering
Through the years, Paul Barrett has taken on and assisted in the fight against "Big Tobacco," the Insurance Industry, the Medical Establishment, the Security and Investment Industry, as well as many Fortune 500 companies. To date, Paul has won practically every confrontation whether in court or out. Why?
He always says, "Find a cause that is right. One that is filled with TRUTH. A cause that is beneficial to mankind. And then you cannot help but win. It may not be overnight. But if you persevere, you will prevail. Never surrender. You will be victorious!" His philosophy has proven right. Some of his battles have lasted years but he always seems to win - he always prevails.
Paul believes the fight against Mandatory Spay/Neutering is a cause that is based on TRUTH. He also believes the Goliath is taking the simple, easy way out. An approach that will fail.

Shining the Light on Truth
Paul firmly believes that mandatory spaying/neutering is not the answer to stopping the needless killing of animals by Animal Care and Control. In fact, the health problems caused by spaying and neutering contributes to owners abandoning pets. For example, spaying/neutering can cause incontinence, weight gain, as well as serious behavior problems all of which are included in the top ten reasons for abandoning pets to shelters.
It is Paul Barrett's belief that the proposal to spay and neuter innocent animals, who are not part of the problem, is the result of a government that is inefficient and unable to create a workable solution. He believes there are better answers.
Fooling the People
Abraham Lincoln once said, "You can fool some of the people all of the time. All of the people some of the time. But you can't fool all of the people all of the time." How applicable Lincoln's statement is to the mandatory spay/neutering situation happening today.
Pet owners account for approximately 50% of the vote and contribute approximately 50% of the county's four billion dollar budget. Pet owners are the single largest voting group in the county. And the commissioners have just waged war on them.
You do not take a person's innocent pet and operate on it for no medical reason. It's unholy, immoral, medically unsound, and the ultimate violation of our intrinsic basic right to own and protect our pets. Man's relationship with dogs has existed for tens of thousands of years, perhaps hundreds of thousands of years. It's an unalienable right - not a privilege created by a government. Politicians need to accept that fact. They need to vote against the mandatory proposal!
We The People
The commissioners and Animal Care and Control, want to operate on our cats and dogs without our permission. It's unconscionable. On that premise Paul has vowed to fight to overturn this proposal-- to persevere until victorious.
This is a fight for the health of our Pets - if we do not surrender - we will prevail. Be encouraged. One person fighting alone, with the help of a higher source, can beat an unrighteous enemy. Imagine if we all stood together! Stand with us and let truth prevail.
The Constitution of the United States of America offers us a clear course for solving problems such as this. The Constitution uses three powerful words that are written in large print: WE THE PEOPLE. Our founding fathers in a stroke of genius understood that governments will fail, that governments will be corrupt, and that governments will make poor decisions. But WE THE PEOPLE have the final authority and responsibility to correct government. WE THE PEOPLE need to stand together and fight this senseless law.
If you love animals - cats and dogs - join us in the fight to
Save our Pets from being Euthanized and from
Mandatory Spaying and Neutering.

No matter whether you oppose mandatory spay/neuter or support it, if you love animals, you owe it to them, and to yourself, to read this book by Nathan J. Winograd.
This is the story of animal sheltering in the United States, a movement that was born of compassion and then lost its way. It is the story of the No Kill movement, which says we can and must stop the killing. It is about heroes and villains, betrayal and redemption. And it is about a social movement as noble and just as those that have come before. But most of all, it is a story about believing in the community and trusting in the power of compassion.
